The occurrence
On 21 September 2025, a privately registered Robinson R44 helicopter took off from a private property in the vicinity of Sainte-Marie, Quebec, to Magog, Quebec. The helicopter was observed near Saint-Séverin, Quebec, flying in a nose-down attitude toward the top of a forested hill.
The helicopter struck the treetops and crashed. A post-impact fire broke out, and the aircraft was destroyed. The pilot, who was the sole occupant on board, was fatally injured. The TSB is investigating.
