TSB to issue recommendation and safety concern following its investigation into a train collision and derailment near Wainwright West, Alberta

Edmonton, Alberta,  — 

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) will release its investigation report (R23E0079) into the August 2023 collision and subsequent derailment of two CN freight trains near Wainwright West, Alberta.  

As a result of the investigation, the Board is issuing a recommendation to Transport Canada and a safety concern aimed at advancing rail transportation safety.
