TSB to highlight long-standing safety risk following investigation into 2023 train collision and derailment in Montreal

Ottawa, Ontario,  — 

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) will hold a news conference to release its investigation report (R23D0108) into the 2023 main-track collision and derailment involving a Canadian National Railway Company freight train and a Réseau de transport métropolitain (exo) commuter train, in Montréal, Quebec. The Board will also issue a new recommendation to eliminate or reduce safety deficiencies that pose significant risks to the transportation system and warrant the attention of regulators and industry.
